I have to admit that the entirely new insulation which was completed by GNI made a big difference in our heating bill. So they came in and stage one was for them to remove all the old insulation and then a crew goes back in to vacuum up all debris and dust. Second stage they go in with a spray foam which hardens overnight and this foam forms the vapour barrier. This was spread over the entire floor of the attic and although the explained that they would cover around electrical switches and fan housing so that this items do not get covered with a vapour foam barrier. Recently Bill Barlow came to my home to evaluate my need for insulation. I am truly impressed by the professionalism and honesty of this man. Luckily and in my favour no insulation was needed. Customer service reached out and offered us $200 in gift cards of our choosing plus $200 in cash off the job. We waited to change this review as we wanted to see the job completed. They did an excellent job and showed up promptly. Thank you for correcting your mistake.
Tried to use this business. Booked 3 weeks ago. They gave us a time frame of 8-11am. My husband emailed them and by 11:15am some woman called and told him that "we forgot and the wrong date was inputed and the guy doing the job wasn't working this week". My husband moved the entire garage out for these

We went with them because they were recommended by a family member. Upto the insulation everything went smoothly. After insulation we noticed that some lights started to flicker. This may have been caused by one of their people unintentionally messing with a pot light when they were insulating. Called up after sales and they sent over Aaron who took some pictures and 10 days later arrogantly tells me that the fault is mine and they are done with their services.
The least a customer who spent $2000 insulating their attic would expect is that recommend the right person

We’ve recently topped up our attic insulation. The service level that GNI provided us was nothing but exceptional. Starting with Matt providing the recommendation and estimates, to Nick and Sarah’s prompt reply to all my questions. On the day of the insulation, Connor, John and Will carried themselves with professionalism, friendliness and… efficiency These three gentlemen even took the time to inform us what to look out for in the attic and how we can maintain it. We just had out attic spray foamed with closed cell foam and also had an attic top up with blown fiberglass, additional venting and attic hatch upgrade. Bother crews were fantastic, showed up on time, protected our floors covered the window sill that they piped the material in through and did a very thorough clean up after. Showed up on time and… call ahead, to make sure we were ready.
Highly recommend them. We have had a lot of reno's here in the last few months and these guys really understand, great customer care. Matt, Nick and the team will take great care of you...

They poorly replaced a attic hatch while insulating, it blew out at 2am that night filled my bed room with insulation, and the company took no steps or even responsibility for their mistake. in my opinion poor… work, and worse customer service. my house in now colder, and I need to repair a attic hatch my self, both because of them.

Excellent!!! Great Northern Insulation topped up my attic. My house is so quiet now, I had no idea there was so much noise coming from the inferior job the builder had done in insulating my home (my one story house is only 12 yrs old). What a great sleep I had last night.
They didn’t just blow insulation in the attic, they prepared the areas… around the soffits so that I could have the FULL benefits of the insulation in my attic.

I work in contracting and hired GNI for work on my own basement. The quote obtained was reasonably priced and I was able to schedule the installation on my preferred date with no issue. The work was completed quickly with no issues arising during installation. Items along the wall such as my sump pump and electrical panel were not damaged or sprayed over in any way and they did a good job protecting materials I had stored in the basement.

I had a terrible experience with Great Northern. They had to be watched like a hawk, numerous areas that I was told were completed needed touch-up for example. When I say touch-up, some of these areas weren't touched to begin with. When they were done they left a substantial mess. Hundreds upon hundreds of staples left in the window frames, some windows were left with the poly-tarps still left on and the workers were gone. They left here so fast they forgot the broom and dust pan that they never used here whatsoever in the clean-up. Make sure they don't sweep the over-spray bits

We are very happy with the final finished product of our spray foam installation in our Basement. I would have given 5 stars, but the confusion and poor communication with the booking/scheduling department prevents.
Our Sales person Bill was excellent, he helped explain the process along with some tips and tricks to properly construct and prepare for the install (I was doing much of the framing etc.. myself) which was time and care no other sales person really took.

We had attic insulation done. It was an easy and clean process that took about 4 hours. The fellas were both very professional and friendly. We had waited for 23 years to do this and cannot figure out why. We now have been upgraded to current requirements and feel good for this.
