We wanted to replace our old wooden deck with a new, low/no maintenance option. After consulting several companies and independent contractors we found Mark at Arbutus Sundecks. He immediately impressed with the promptness of his response, clear knowledge of the options and dedication to doing quality work on time and on budget.
We had our project done during the Covid-19 health restrictions and Mark went above and beyond in ensuring the safety of everyone involved. Our project took one week to complete and the worksite was left tidy and contain each day. The clean-up at the end of the project

I used Arbutus Sundecks to replace two vinyl decks on my house. I interviewed several contractors however Mark was undoubtedly the most helpful and knowledgable. The company did excellent work. The vinyl product they used is extremely durable and long lasting, and they have tremendous capabilities when it comes to carpentry and repairs of the underlying decking and railings. Also, Mark's after sales services is great. He has returned twice to advise me on other issues related to my decks and I think he really cares about the long term relationship with his customers.

In our experience (me and my husband), Arbutus Sundecks did a decent job BUT watch out: their quotes are meaningless.
We were quoted one price for a job and at no point were informed that there was more work than expected, which would require more time and therefore money. While I don't find it unreasonable that once opening up a deck, more details of the job can be uncovered, this was never pointed out at the outset, never during the 2 weeks they worked on the job and they were extremely rude and unprofessional in dealing with the situation. They went so far as to claim that we had approved

They are currently working on a project for us and the work seems decent, however, I've had first hand encounters coming home to either debris not properly disposed and laying around or no value or concern for the surrounding areas including respect for property. They forget that you can't just throw things around as if it is an abandoned construction site.
