Our seven designers have accumulated over 50 years of experience in designing and engineering roof and floor trusses.
Northland Building Supplies Ltd.'s extensive lumber yard carries only #2 or better appearance grade or better lumber. The fact that we sit on 13 acres of property allows us to carry most every conceivable size in our regular stock. Along with every type of traditional cut lumber, we also carry a wide variety of plywood and oriented strand board (OSB).
Northland Building Supplies Ltd. is one of Edmonton's largest dealers of Weyerhaeuser's TJI floor joist systems. Engineered to provide strength and consistency, these joists are a key part of making a high-performance floor. I am very disappointed to their truss and joist package services. I have been working with them before for many projects, which were fine. But recently I sent them a project about 3 months ago, and then send a couple emails to follow up after that, there was no response. Until a few weeks ago when I called them, they said sorry we are busy and can't do this project. It delays my client's project for 2 months. They didn't let me know that they can't do it, even after I sent a few follow up emails. and their only answer is sorry we are too busy. I talked to their supervisor a few weeks ago, and he

We had Northland build a garage/shop with a second floor loft at our lake lot. The unit is 30x36 with a shed dormer. The quality of the finished product is very good. It was great working with Northland’s technical folks in the design phase of the work, they had lots of good ideas from previous projects + a can-do attitude in coming up with a… custom design that met all our needs. Northland has a team of solid subs that take a lot of pride in their work. It was a very rainy summer in the Edmonton area this year, so there were lots of challenges in finding dry enough days to execute

Northland Building Supplies built my garage this May. I received a 10% discount for an early Spring booking. The company offers to do the permit paperwork for Edmonton builds for a fee but I chose to do it myself. Part way through the process, I had difficulties and Brent helped me complete the forms. This was just the beginning of service that was much better than expected. I also wanted to switch the front door of my house to the garage and buy a new front. Brent sourced a front door for me and supplied a contractor to do the actual change. The garage went up quickly and without any concerns

Originally I had thought Northlands was excellent. I am building a large custom home. In the end, 27 of 81 trusses were wrong. They had to bring in a crane to completely remove two of the huge 3 ply girder trusses and my framer had to cut and reframe some trusses as well. Out of the 27 they replaced around a dozen were rebuilt completely. They suggested my framer was at fault for most. The balance of the 27 were designed wrong. In the end, my costs are at least half the $16000 truss bill. Framing cost and crane alone were over $3000. The owner says "Maximum $2000" to fix.
