Beware of contractors who lowball estimates but keep billing extras until the total is far beyond the expected. As one lawyer said, some contractors never finish a job; they continue until money runs out or they're fired from the job site. Ask this one for a complete list of prior jobs and then take time to talk to the homeowners.
