Pressure-treated fences are made of softwood lumber that has been treated with chemicals to improve its durability against rot, decay, and insects. Most pressure-treated fences use pine. Having worked closely with many small construction companies through the years, Sterling Hanham at S&P Construction was the worst. Sterling Hanham was an absolute disaster to work with. He was attacking, aggressive, screamed and on most days he carried himself in similar fashion to a child having a temper tantrum. Yelling at people that have nothing to do with him or his company's situation is reflective of poor values, emotional composure and a self focussed leadership team. I will take every step necessary to avoid having to do business with him again and I sincerely hope you do too.

Great experience! Asked for a quote on a deck and Sterling gave me one right away. He came to my house and showed me samples of all the Fiberon composite materials he has to offer. Told him I did not want brown, then he managed to pitch the perfect 2 color combination of Fiberon Sanctuary Earl gray and chai colors. He also explained all the ins and outs of deck building to me, and his passion for deck building and construction truly showed.
Screwpiles were quickly put in and Scott and crew came head of schedule and worked hard and finished in a day in a half. I got an amazing final product! Sterling

Disappointed. I haven’t had any work done by S&P Construction but based on lack of customer service I’m sure that glad I didn’t.
Things got off to a good start as Sterling promptly replied to my original email asking for a quote. He requested that I send him some photos of the project that I inquired about so I promptly sent an email back to him. I waited over a week and did not receive a response from Sterling so I sent him another email to follow up. Once again waited another three days and I still haven’t received a response back.

We had Sterling and his company build our composite deck and pour the stamped concrete patio - we've already recommended them to two family members! Good quality, reasonable pricing, finished up really fast and responded a year later (our deck was done last Sep) when we had some questions.
We got quotes from three different companies, Sterling was competitive with pricing and one of the more reasonable companies. It took a few days to actually build the deck, pour and stamp the concrete. His team was professional and helpful.
Would use again if we needed deck, concrete or fencing!

We recently had a stamped concrete patio, stone fire pit, composite deck, pergola and fence installed by S&P Construction. Sterling was great with design ideas, Steve did a wonderful job with the concrete and stone and Scott kept this large project on track. Any issues / questions were dealt with professionally and in a timely fashion. We are extremely happy with the finished product, it has transformed our back yard into a private oasis that we will enjoy for years to come.

We have a new home in Spruce Grove and called multiple contractors for quotes and it was like pulling teeth to get anyone at all to come to our house. We googled searched contractors for a fence and concrete work and S&P showed up first for both searches. We called them and they came over the next day and were very professional and gave us a quote that very same day. We feel the prices are very competitive and the workers were really great. They dropped the supplies off and built our fence in a day and had the area cleaned up by 5pm. Talked with Sterling for the most part and he was a great guy

My Wife and I searched all summer for a contractor to build our build and deck. We went to the home and garden show to get some ideas and during our search we were very impressed by the display of S&P. There quote was about $10,000 less then classic landscaping and in all honesty you get what you pay for. What we got from S&P was the most amazing wrap around deck and it’s the talk on our street. People were coming to our house each day to ask us who is building our deck. Rob who is one of there workers did a amazing job all by himself and was completed less then 2 weeks. I would highly recommend

We had a new fence built and the deck re-done in our yard this summer! Meeting with Sterling was great, we weren't quite sure what we wanted the deck to look like, and he came up with some great ideas we hadn't even considered. The quote was average for the amount of work being done, but the timeliness of the entire process, and the craftsmanship of our finished product far exceeded our original ideas. We were completely blown away by how smoothly everything went, and now we have a beautiful outdoor space to enjoy. Thanks S&P!
