We've been specializing in heat pump installation, maintenance and repair for over 15 years. Joanne and Don Gulevich began Coastal Heat Pumps in the beautiful Comox Valley in 2005, and moved to Victoria in 2011. Coastal Heat Pumps has gotten where it is today with the support of family, and the dedication, patience, and hard work of our team.
In Partnership, Don and Joanne have been in the HVAC industry for 30 years and started Coastal Heat Pumps together in 2005. Skilled service technician, and installer, Cody is also known for having the cleanest truck in the fleet. Certified technician, and a meticulous installer, but don't be surprised if there is a tool left behind.
Installing a heat pump involves multiple components, including the heat pump itself, the duct work (if required), the furnace (or air handler) and various other options like HRVs and thermostats. As an independent contractor we install and service a variety of heat pump makes and models, guaranteeing up to12 year parts and labour warranty.
Simply put, we are not comfortable until you are. This means that we will do whatever we can to ensure you have a comfortable and positive experience with Coastal Heat Pumps. We always put our customer's needs ahead of our own. We will never walk away from a job until you are 100% satisfied, and we don't expect to get paid until the job is completed to your satisfaction.

I was impressed with this company from start to finish! Has a technician in to do an annual inspection on the heat pump system. They responded to email promptly, set up an appointment and really clearly outlined not only the process but the covid protocol etc. Jake (the tech) was on time, extremely polite and very thorough. At the end, they provide an online invoice and a review/assessment of your systems. I would highly recommend and will use them again annually going forward.

The technician, Mitch, arrived promptly and diagnosed the issues very quickly, proceeding to de-ice the heat pump and change the defrost settings to correct the problem. He answered all our questions very thoroughly and we were very impressed by his knowledge and expertise. All in all a excellent experience and we will certainly be relying on Coastal for all our future servicing needs and also the possible up-grading of our heating system.

We just had installed a 36K BTU, 4-Port, FJM Multi-Zone Heat Pump - Samsung JXH36J4T with 3 Heads in our 100 year old house with base board. The heat from the head units is so comfortable and feels different from forced air furnaces.
Anyway I digress, the install service from Coastal Heat Pumps was without fault. Initially I was concerned about the external lines and cladding and how the would affect the aesthetic of the old house, but they are for the most part hidden on the side of the house. The finish of the installers reflects an experienced and professional touch and we are very happy with

Removing our electric furnace and Installing a heat pump 7 years ago was the best money ever spent on our home. We were a little skeptical when Don (the owner of Coastal heat Pumps) was telling us how efficient the Fujitsu system would be and the savings we could expect on our hydro bill. After the install Don would ask almost monthly what we were saving over the old system. I kept delaying giving him an answer but after a year we looked at our yearly hydro bill and it was 32% of the cost compared to the previous year with the electric furnace. We also have the house warmer, never shut the heat

I hired Coastal Heat Pumps to install a new heat pump in April 2021. I was most impressed with the quality service and resulting product! I worked with Graham in sales who provided the quote and Jordan coordinated the sheet metal install, the electrical, and the oil tank removal. It was all seamless, professional, and so well coordinated. I have been so happy with the heat pump. The consistent heat is amazing and the air conditioning this past summer was fantastic! I haven't noticed any increase to my hydro bill either! I am so pleased with it all. I even signed up for their yearly maintenance

As second owners to the home he took the time to explain how the system worked overall and suggested settings that would make the system more efficient, something that had not happened in the past.
