Brandan Johan Soros started out his career in the silviculture industry, doing vegetation management for a BC Hydro contractor in Terrace B.C. Shortly after, he entered the heli-logging industry with aspirations of climbing some of our coasts' largest trees. The knowledge, experience, and skills he gained on the remote coast were priceless and he would eventually take some of those skills to residential tree care.
Soon after he started working for a small, successful tree service in Qualicum Beach B.C., he realized he was more interested in caring for trees in our urban environment than logging them on the coast. It became his drive and passion; learning the biology of trees and their effect on the people that live with them.
Not only is his work as an arborist his passion, climbing trees is also his hobby outside, of arboriculture - using special techniques that are very low impact, to study the canopy of our largest species. Services
Cleaning is the removal of dead, dying, diseased, weakly attached, and low-vigor branches from the crown of a tree. Thinning is selective branch removal to improve structure and to increase light penetration and air movement through the crown. Proper thinning opens the foliage of a tree, reduces weight on heavy limbs, and helps retain the tree's natural shape.
Brandan Soros is an international society of arboriculture (ISA) certified arborist with over 10 years' experience in forestry, SILVICULTURE, and arboriculture. We hold Work Safe bc coverage and have Third party Liability insurance with milmine insurance - arborguard - which is insurance specifically catered to arboriculture work.
We are very happy with our experience. We had an overgrown leylandii cypress hedge which needed to be brought to a manageable size. It was a big job that was handled competently and quickly by Brandan and his team. They were prompt, organized, and efficient. We had three large, dead Grand Firs that we very close to ours and our neighbours houses.

As I write this (Jan. 25th, 2022) the Team of Viking Tree Care is laying the last hand on felling and bucking 5 large 100 feet + tall fir trees! We are very, very pleased with their quick response to provide a quote, attention to safety, and efficiency of work! Despite from being out of town their pricing was extremely (!) competitive compared to our local guy here in town. Viking Tree Care is now our goto company for any future tree needs.

Viking was awesome showed up on time did the job and cleaned up like they were never here! Highly recommend use their service! Ps . Not only did they do the job but also helped out when our elderly neighbor took a fall . Morgan was there to help stabilize her until the ambulance came ! Above the call of duty! Well done!

We had a willow tree fall over while we were away camping. When we got home and found out we called a couple of companies. We decided to go with Viking and we are really glad we did. They were quick with the estimate, and prompt to get us booked and get the tree removed. Great value for the service. Very professional and experienced. We highly recommend them!

We hired Brandan and the Viking Tree Care Crew to take down two very large fir trees and trim a significant Lelandi Cypress hedge. Both the trees and the hedge required a bit of finesse due to their location in the yard.
While giving us an estimate on the job, Brandan also offered up his expertise on a couple of other trees in the yard that we had questions about and his perspective and opinion were invaluable in helping us make a good decision going forward.

Brandan was a sincere pleasure to deal with. We engaged his expertise in assessing the health of a large tree in our yard and, upon his recommendation, had he and his team remove it. Brandan and his crew were professional and efficient while removing two trees and raising the canopy of several others for us.
They cleaned up all the debris and bucked the larger pieces into usable firewood as well.
Brandan also checked over the other trees on our property to make sure they were healthy and gave advice when we requested.

Brandan and his team did an amazing job cutting down 6 Cedars and 2 large Maples out of our backyard. They cut it to the exact sizes we needed to have the lumber milled and were incredible professional and knowledgable. They got all the trees down in one day and worked incredible hard to do so. Couldn't recommend them enough.

I had Brandan come by and quote me on tree removal services, he was very knowledgeable and generous with his time as we surveyed the work to be done. When he and his crew came to do the work, they were professional, courteous, and very safety conscious. His crew members were very attentive to my children who were outside (and curious) during some of the removal work which I really appreciated. Good work and good cleanup afterwards. Highly recommended.
