Habitat Kamloops was founded in 2000 as a non - profit charitable society. We are committed to bringing communities together to help families, veterans, seniors, single parents, special needs groups, and indigenous peoples. Based in Kamloops, British Columbia, we serve communities in four regional districts in the central & northern interior including: Thompson-Nicola, Cariboo, Columbia- Shuswap and Frasier-Fort George.
Habitat Kamloops desires to be a solution to the affordable housing crisis in our region by dedicating our efforts to a new development model that will serve a historic high number of families over the next five years. After a wide-spread consultative process with community leaders and external stakeholders, there is an identified need for over 400 attainable housing units in the communities we serve.

Services
Habitat for Humanity began in 1968 because Linda and Millard Fuller of Americus, Georgia, U.S. had a passion to provide access to safe and decent housing for everyone and to have people, from all walks of life, come together to make this vision come true. In 1984, former United States President Jimmy Carter and wife Rosalynn took part in their first ever Habitat build and continue to do so to this day.
Habitat for Humanity Kamloops works in partnership with people from our community to build homes, communities and hope. We build homes and then sell them to deserving families in need in our communtiy. We offer 0% interest mortgage loans with no down payment required. Habitat homeowners make monthly mortgage payments that do not exceed 30% of their gross monthly income.
Volunteers are the heart and soul of Habitat for Humanity Kamloops. Join the hundreds of volunteers who contribute thousands of hours each year to supporting Habitat for Humanity Kamloops! Whether you're an individual, corporate team, community group, a small group of friends, with skilled experience or not, there are many different ways for you to volunteer.
ReStores are the best-kept secret in home improvement and building supplies shopping in Kamloops. Save 30% to 90% off the retail price while funding homes for those in need. At our ReStore Donation Centres, we receive new and used furniture, large and small appliances, household goods and building materials donated by homeowners, contractors, retailers and manufacturers, and sell them to the public at greatly reduced prices.
When you become a monthly donor, your gift provides consistent and stable funding that lets us make long term plans for building our safe and affordable homes. Or you can choose to make a one-time gift that will help make a profound and lasting difference for families in your community. We use volunteers and in-kind donations to keep building costs low.
