Trees are crucial to Victoria's beauty, health and are an invaluable asset to our lovely city. Tree protection bylaws within our community help protect, maintain and and rejuvenate our urban landscape. In Victoria and the Southern Vancouver Island bylaws regulate the guidelines for cutting, pruning, altering, damaging, removing and replacing protected trees.
An arborist by definition is an individual who is trained in the art, science and safety of planting, caring for, and maintaining and removing individual trees. ISA arborist certification is an international, nongovernmental, voluntary process by which individuals can document their base of knowledge.
More often than not, living in an urban center like Victoria means taking down or reducing the dead or dying trees that many of our favorite creatures call home. This has to be done in most situations for the safety of the community and the protection of homes and communal areas. That being said, this doesn't make our job as tree climbers an easy one!

My husband and I so pleased that we used the talented staff at Climbing Fox. They were recommended to us by one of my clients and she too was pleased with their service and raved about them.
The owners Mike and Sarah are *boots on the ground* involved in their business and they are super knowledgeable about trees and plants and how things should look, be cared for and maintained.
We had Mike and Rory and another great guy come out for the entire day and they pruned trees and removed dead branches and made our yard look amazing! I was also really pleased that they cleaned up afterwards. Mike made

I have been really impressed with Climbing Fox. Throughout my experience they have been friendly, accessible and responsive. Evan, Carson, & Nolan were at my new home today to do work on multiple trees. They were warm, professional, efficient and super approachable. They left the place even better than they found it, cleaning my driveway & hauling away a couple of extra branches even.

Climbing Fox Tree Service is an excellent company. I was quoted a much higher amount from another company to prune back our very large tree. I checked out reviews and called this company. They came in well below that quote and made our tree look beautiful! I am very impressed with their friendly staff and will recommend them to everyone! We are highly impressed with this company. They are very knowledgeable and competent and were very responsive to all communications (a rarity these days). Arborist Sarah was a wealth of knowledge and suggestions, and left us with some excellent suggestions for further tree care. The entire crew that came for the pruning day arrived on time, were very polite and easy to deal with, did first class work on our numerous trees, and left the place spotless. We could not be happier. Excellent value for a reasonable price.

Excellent work by Evan, Carson and Nolan this morning. Crew was 20 minutes early and walked with us, going through the plan; they then went at it skillfully and efficiently. Amazing to see 20+ foot branches being rigged, cut and lowered with care taken to safeguard garden plants (and there are a lot of them!).
We have had Climbing Fox to our property 3 times - for tricky tree removals as well as maintenance, and have been very happy with their work and impressed by their personable approach.

Absolutely awesome experience with Climbing Fox. We could not be happier with the consultation and the work. Sarah was very patient with me as we walked through the yard. Not only did I learn a lot about my trees and plants, we were able to come up with a great plan of attack. She even walked me through doing permit applications. And when the crew came, they were friendly and very professional and great communicators. They pointed out a few extra tasks to take on. Super impressed with everyone - they worked hard and worked well and we love what they did for us. We will definitely be using Climbing

Very satisfied with Climbing Fox Tree Service. Had large hedge/tree removal and stump grinding. Reasonable pricing for excellent work. Crew arrived on time, professional, very safety conscious, clean up was amazing. Would definitely hire again and recommend this company. Michael and crew were excellent.

1 dead oak with a lot of weak branches. 3 diseased arbutus stems. All to come down.
Another tree not to be harmed. A power line. Rough steep terrain.
All to be done by climbing (after rigging safety lines - see picture).
"Just the right amount of challenge" according to Michael.
For us "Just as we wanted it". Safe, effective and efficient. A personable crew and good clean-up. The bid was competitive and lower than expected ... and we like the foxy logo.
For the climbing foxes, more nails buried deep in the old oak than their chain saws would have preferred.

A huge fir tree was toppled in our back yard during one of the recent winter storms. It was precariously propped up by a couple other trees ready to destroy a bunch of fencing, and maybe the corner of my neighbors roof. (See the pics.)
Once the wind died down Climbing Fox was able to deal with the situation, and brought the tree down without any property damage, and in record time. They even cleaned all the branches after another snow storm. Thanks guys. Top service.
