Our other services include aluminum wiring remediation and knob & tube rectification, renovations and more. Older homes may have a 60 or 70 amp panel, this is not enough for today's technology.
An electrical service is the system that provides power to your electrical panel via an overhead or underground wire. The consumer service is the part of the service that the homeowner owns, usually the pipe and electrical meter located on the back of your house. Older houses in Calgary were only supplied with a 60 amp service, this is no longer adequate power for most modern homes.
An electrical meter is the device that read the power you use. The metal 'meter socket' is a housing that contains your electrical meter. It is usually on the outside of your home between the overhead or underground service and the electrical panel. Usually located on the back or side of your house, they sometimes become an obstruction to a renovation like enlarging windows or building decks.

I contacted Panel Upgrade Experts to install wall outlets in my unfinished basement. They first provided me with a quote and were very accommodating to my schedule. Joel arrived on-time and was able to complete the work in a timely and professional manner. I liked the fact they were very flexible when it came to payment as well so that's a bonus! Panel Upgrade experts were very responsive. When walking me through the work that would be done, they did the best to describe the work that would be done and how things would look when done. They did a great job and left the site clean. My husband and I had some siding work to do afterwards, but because Paul was able to explain that before hand, it was something we were ready for which none of the other contractors giving me a quote even mentioned. We are very happy with all the work they did.

I live in a 1930's bungalow and needed my my panel and knob and tube wiring replaced. I found Panel Upgrade Experts on the Web. I did not know if they were good, great, or not so great lol. Well I got lucky, they are great. These old houses are tough to re-wire. First they replaced the Panel (I was pleased with this work) and then later when I could no longer put it off we did a complete re-wire. I should have done it all sooner. On time, under budget and good quality work. Paul, Joel and Jill do what they say they will do. I will continue to use them for whatever electrical comes up.
