Following the maxim 'Form follows Function', WILLIAM L. ADLER & Associates Ltd., have been on the cutting edge of Interior Design since 1980. This Rosedale pied-a-terre is the result of very close collaboration between the clients and our design team. Through in-depth discussions we were able to understand the clients' requirements, their lifestyle and how they envisaged their lives within this oasis in the city. Initially the clients had simply proposed the replacement of the three bathrooms and the kitchen.
Clients of long standing called to say ".We're moving again and this time, we are down-sizing.". That is the conversation which began the work on this 3 level townhome with excellent "bone structure" which was going to need more than TLC and a new kitchen to bring it to their standard. Having worked with this couple on two previous residences; their tastes, their design sensibilities and their art collection were all known commodities.
This relaxed residence came about by downsizing from a large family home and the construction of a vacation property in the same time period. Once the decision was made to purchase this house, our design team were able to develop a concept for the clients in short order. This included a new kitchen & bathrooms and all finishes related to flooring, walls and lighting throughout.
This delightful kitchen project is the ultimate proof that an investment in good planning and design, results in dividends beyond one's expectations. The existing 10m2 space had a 28 year old kitchen which was showing its age. It had tired finishes, ancient appliances and was a totally non-functional work space.
