When it comes to getting a new driveway, how can an average homeowner make sure that the paving contractor does a good job? Here are a few suggestions. Deal only with reputable contractors. If someone knocks at your door offering a special price because they happen to have some asphalt left over from a job down the street, shut the door as quickly as possible.

This is the second time we deal with Wayne and his crew and both time they have achieved a top notch job on asphalt paving. Wayne is always on site to make sure everything is perfect. My driveway was installed in 2008 and it was supposed to be 3 inches thick and cost around $10,000.00. It has since started cracking in many places. I measured the thickness in 5 places with an average of 1.525 inches. This means they may have used half the asphalt that I was supposed to get leading to a driveway cracking prematurely and deeper than normal tire ruts. There are asphalt calculators online that say I should have needed 61.88 tonnes. So I may have only gotten 31 tonnes of asphalt. They did do a very nice looking job though, but now I may need to replace my driveway.

We had paving done 6 months ago, it was our first time doing anything with paving. We had contacted Ascon when getting quotes as our neighbours used them 3 years ago. Wayne was great educating me on standards for paving and what to look out for when planning our project. Wayne and the team were super and always got back to us promptly. We just had some more work done and they were excellent to work with. We've all been really happy with the work! Definitely recommend!

We had Wayne and his team excavate our driveway (40 years worth of concrete - it wasn't an easy job), as well as pave it afterwards - they did the work in the Spring of 2019. Wayne was great to work with - he responded to phone calls and was very professional. The quote we were given was very reasonable esp given the quality of work. The project was done within a good timeframe. We were very happy with the results and continue to be very happy with the results - the driveway looks great! We have received lots of compliments on it. I would recommend Wayne and his team to anyone! :)
