Tikal Construction Ltd was founded in 1987 in Thunder Bay, Ontario. From our home base in Mission BC, Tikal primarily operates in BC but also performs facilities management across the country for select clients. The name Tikal comes from the jungles of northern Guatemala where the Mayan city of Tikal has impressive temples that were built more than 500 years ago.
After more than 30 years in the business, safe building practises remain a top priority on Tikal projects. We are a COR certified, safety oriented company building efficiently and safely on all of our sites. Norm Olson, the president of the company is a red seal carpenter, professional quantity surveyor and a gold seal certified estimator.
He brings many years of project management experience to the team approach that Tikal maintains on all projects. Rounding out the team in the office are Shiro Olson, public relations and business development, Sherri Van Harmelen, project coordination and Amber Still who oversees accounting and office administration.
