Adele Maines started her career in the decorating industry in 1991. She pursued a formal education and graduated with distinction from the University of Alberta Residential Interiors Program in 1996. In that same year she formed her own company, Changing Spaces Design Group, working with clients from the conception stage to the finishing touches.
In 2003 she joined her mentor, Gisela Klar, and collaborated with her until her retirement in 2009. Adele purchased the trade name of Klar Interior Design and has proudly carried on the reputation of the well-known business.Karen Anderson graduated from the University of Alberta Residential Interiors program with distinction and while in the program was hired by Klar Interior Design in 2006 to help with some administration and library maintenance work.

Adele did all the interior design of our new home for us. Her experience, ability to connect with us, her professionalism and fantastic eye made the project a pleasure and the results over and above our expectations. My wife and I are very disappointed with this company. We were gifted 30 hours to help design a new home plan from family who had used KLAR in the past for their home remodel, and were using for a current project. We only worked with Dawn in regards to the home layout and exterior design, and while she seems to be a talented drafter, it was extremely difficult getting work out of her. The work was never done when she said it would be and was only eventually given to us because we constantly phoned and emailed asking for it; it felt like we had to hassle her to make any progress. Adele at Klar Interior Design created a space that perfectly reflects our taste and lifestyle. I can't say enough about her innovative ideas (and patience). The reno company we used loved working with Adele so much that they now refer clients to her! Don't bother looking further than KLAR; no one else will measure up.
