Darwin Construction
Founded in 1987 on Vancouver's North Shore, Darwin is a family construction and development company that seeks to build stronger communities that meet the needs of people today and in the future. With our unique combination of construction experience and development know-how, we set standards for quality in everything we build in Western Canada and the U.S., from commercial and residential projects to recreational facilities and social housing.
Services
From Darwin's roots as a construction company founded by David Webbe in 1987, we've grown into a company that also develops new communities under the direction of Oliver Webbe, the family's second generation. Our unique mix of construction and development expertise makes us a valued partner in residential and commercial projects of every kind.
We're always looking for talented, ambitious, community-minded people to join our development and construction teams. If you think your skills can help us build better communities, we want to hear from you. Darwin is an experienced and reliable builder and developer based on Vancouver's North Shore.
For more than 30 years, we've embraced the philosophy that we should treat people the way we want to be treated. That means that the multi-family homes and neighbourhoods we build are thoughtfully-designed, accessible to people in different stages of life, and make the communities around them even more liveable and enjoyable.
Since 1987, Darwin has been successfully building projects of every kind, scale and complexity in Western Canada and the US. From homes to communities, shopping centres to office buildings, schools to restaurants and hotels, we have built exceptional expertise.
Darwin develops and constructs buildings of every kind, but we are also builders of stronger communities. Family Services of the North Shore and EMBERS, the Eastside Movement for Business and Economic Renewal Society, are foundational to that goal.

Thank you, Darwin, for making a plan to save the cedar on 21st St in North Vancouver!!! "Street" trees are not a consolation prize to replace the magnificent cedar. The tree on 21st St is irreplaceable.

A 200 yr old cedar on edge of a development property was going to be cut down because the company specifically designed the building so the parkade entrance was exactly where this heritage cedar is. Darwin listened to considerable community opposition, consulted with experts and considered the biota that use or reside in the tree, green building design, sustainability, climate action, community, and this tree which is a living organism that has resided here for 200 years long before the city existed, and saw this as an opportunity to do things differently. This local company took on extra costs

This company is planning on cutting down old growth cedar trees on 21st street and Lonsdale that are healthy and deeply meaningful to community members. Stop it!! Do not endorse them unless they alter their plans.

Cutting down old growth trees with 0 remorse is not something that I value in a company. Blatant disregard for the environment is not a good look for any company, especially when there is known and vocal push back and they do not care.

Please listen to the concerns of citizens of North Vancouver and DO NOT take the chain saw to that beautiful cedar tree. Please work with the city to come up with an alternate solution. We know you can do it!

Please do not kill that beautiful and irreplaceble Cedar tree on 21st street. Its not fair with people who live at North Van. Don't say we will plant a new tree, its not the same and you guys now that. I hope you can find a better solution for that. Think about your kids in the future, they will need trees inside the city.

Wants to chop down 200+ year old trees. Prefers concrete parking lots and high rises. 10/10 hates and ignores community opinion

Our experience was based on an attempted property purchase by Darwin. In our view tactics used by Darwin raised questions of ethics.

As a previous employee I had the worst ever experience with this company. No matter what ,they fire you at the end of the day this happened to me and most of the coworkers and previous employees.
