I came here on the weekday afternoon to get some prescription glasses.
It took a few minutes for anyone to approach me but I prefer this since most stores, once you walk in, someone harasses you without even giving you a chance to look at their product. Natacha gave me a hand with about 5 frames I wanted to look at. She was patient and helpful.
What I loved about this store was that they have a huge selection of designer frames. While I was shopping last week at about 4 shops on Kingsway, their selection was crap. Eyestar has the best name brands and everything appears to be up to date

This place is eyewear heaven! I would highly recommend this place to check ups or your eye wear needs. Dr Hung and Irene is extremely friendly when it comes to your eye exam, they're friendly and personable. Don't get me started on the staff! Everyone is friendly, helpful but also realistic real about what looks good and what doesn't, I had basically the whole team that helped me. Matthew, Sarah, Tammy, Jenny, Coco, Cannes and Keith are so funny and lit af, y'all should definitely go here!

This is more a shout out to the staff that helped me, and the great selection at this store.
I've gone through almost every eyeglass store in that mall, and almost walked out just as clueless as I walked in.
One of the last stores I tried was Eyestar Optical.
Just top-notch personalized service and a great selection of glasses to find the perfect ones.
I usually love supporting small business owners, but I chose to check out Metrotown for the first time for my next pair of sunglasses, since my usual store was closed and I was leaving on vacation at the end of the week. (l normally

Surprisingly, either the owner or manager sure seemed to know her stuff; thought it was going to be a bunch of part-timers on a Sunday.
Looking for some ultra-thin lens for my prescription, recommended the Nikon 1.7 for $500 plus another $50 for high astigatism. Includes all the UV protection and scratch resistance.
And of course, plus the cost of frames.
Overall, it's a very high-end looking store, w/ all the fancy designer labels; feels better than those Aberdeen ones where you know you're going to negotiate like heck lol.
friendly service, I'd go back after some comparison

I have purchased a few frames and sunglasses here before, as well as had my lenses replaced at Eyestar in the past (which fell out a day later day and had to replaced again).
I went in the other day to check out new possible frames. The sales lady who I never saw before took me for a fool. I usually try to avoid pushy asian optical stores that whip out their calculators (I find this very rude), but I had been a long time customer at this store and I went out of convenience. First off, they mark up all their frames 300 to 500%, then tell you they are at a 40% discount, but this is pretty common

I've purchased my last 2 pairs of prescription lens and frames from Eyestar and was the first place I went to shop for my latest pair.
They recently added eye exams for $75. The optometrist was friendly and professional. However I did not get a prescription for contact lenses and he said to talk to the contact sales lady out front.
I spent two days at Eyestar trying on frames and I found their customer service has dropped dramatically from my past experiences. None of the staff stuck with me for more than 10mins. I can understand if they need to help other customers, but please come back

After the renovations this place has turned into a giant well lit oasis of eyewear selection.
The staffers here are pretty no-nonsense and it works out for the better. They'll let you know if they think a certain type of frame just won't work for your face.
The selection is vast which makes shopping a pleasure as you don't have to keep going to various locations, yet at the same time difficult due to the volume of choice.
Prices are pretty decent here, especially if there happens to be sale going on.
