Services
Operating windows, sometimes referred to as 'crankouts'. This type of window requires a 'two piece' cladding system. 1- Cladding to the exterior frame. 2- Cladding to the sash - the operating part of the window. THIS STYLE OF WINDOW REQUIRES EXTRA CARE AND ATTENTION. When originally built by the manufacturer, they were designed with a specific amount of clearance between the mainframe and the sash.
Non-operating windows, sometimes in combination with operating (casement) windows, may have 'glass block' instead of a regular glass sealed unit. USUALLY EXTERIOR GLAZED, IMPORTANT CLADDING MATERIAL IS REMOVABLE AND RE USEABLE. This style of window is generally the larger size of window on a home and usually more exposed to the elements than the operating (casement) windows.
This style of window generally has a metal or vinyl 'sash' that slides either horizontally or vertically in the window frame with a wood sill and brickmould around the main frame. Care must be taken not to block the drain holes when cladding this type of window. These windows are normally the least expensive to clad.
BAY WINDOWS - Normally a 3 'lite' window that projects from the home at 45 or 60 degree angles. BOW WINDOWS - Normally a 5 'lite' window that projects from the home at approximately 30 degrees. Both of these window products, because they project from the wall of the home, are generally exposed to the elements, more so than a 'flat' window.
1- Make sure the CLADDING IS BENT TO FIT THE FRAME (not "hollow" capped) so that if you decide to have a storm door installed in the future, a standard size storm door will fit. This will improve appearance and ensure a weather tight seal. 2- WEATHER STRIPPING, screwed on type, should be removed before cladding and reinstalled on top of the cladding.

This spring I hired Custom Cladding to cover the door and window trim for my mother-in-law's house. David was very good to deal with throughout the process and did an excellent job. The product was very strong, looked great and was a reasonable price. I highly recommend using this company and will definitely use them again.
