Services
Northern Security is a family-owned-and-operated company that started as a locksmith providing customers with mobile services. As our customer base grew, we opened our first store on Elm Street. Today, we serve a broad range of clients across Northern Ontario. It all began on a beautiful spring day in 1976, at an Oak Street duplex in the west end of Sudbury.
Regular (Non-Chipped): The typical keys used to open doors or start engines in older vehicles. Chipped/Transponder: Keys with transponders in the heads used to start engines of current vehicle models. Integrated: Keys with push-button functions like lock, unlock, and remote start incorporated into the head of the key.

High Security keys allow property owners and managers to gain exclusive control over duplication of keys by tenants and employees.
At Northern Security we supply property owners(residential, commercial, industrial) with state-of-the-art electronic solutions. Access control, home automation, alarm systems and surveillance technologies. All of these systems can be used remotely or via mobile device. These devices can integrate with smart appliances or other devices such as Alexa or Google Home.
Our storefront here at Northern Security is stocked with an inventory of residential and commercial hardware, and a collection of 1,000 different key blanks that you will not find anywhere else in Sudbury, ON. The helpful storefront staff include shop technicians that can help answer your questions, as well as perform a variety of in-shop locksmith duties.

I have done business with them in the past and was very satisfied. Recent work with them was met with a few hiccups but in the end they resolved the problem. The men that installed the locks were great to deal with and ensured that I knew how to use the new system. They also made sure to clean up any mess they had made while installing the locks.

Bought a used Corolla (2017) in October and it only came with one key. I was unsure of cost to have one made, nor was I sure if they had an OEM key. I went into the store and they had one more basic ignition key, exactly what I wanted and at a reasonable price. They had it cut and programmed to the car in less than 10 minutes. Apart from being slightly less smooth than the factory key that the car came with, I’ve had absolutely no issues since October.

Absolutely amazing service, would recommend this establishment to even my grandmother as I know they're honest and not there to rip you off. Also have prices far better than anywhere I've gone. Competitors charge nearly double. Service was great and very informative, if you need a key for anything Norther Security is the place to go!:)

Courteous, professional and got the job done quickly. Thanks to Damien and Adrien for their excellent work in getting our 2009 Pontiac Vibe back in action in record time. We had lost the only key to the vehicle on a multi-day kayak trip: They knew exactly what to do, what we needed to get (codes from the dealer), and were able to cut and program a new chip-coded key from scratch. Took about an hour from start to finish, including Adrien's expert hand key-filing to get it to fit some old, well-used locks.
