Services
Our founder Bob Philipchalk spent his days' woodworking with his father, a cabinet maker, learning about the cabinetry trade. In the 1960s, he had a vision. He started a small cabinetry company that has grown over the years to become Harbour City Kitchens. Today, Bob's sons, Scott, Tim, along with business partner Craig Bryden proudly own and run HCK, a fourth-generation cabinetry family business.
At Harbour City Kitchens there are hundreds of choices when it comes to door styles and colours. We have it all. Please keep in mind that you must be aware of the hazards of heat and moisture. Always wipe off excess moisture and be careful with extreme heat sources, such as kettles, toasters, ovens, and base heaters.
When it comes to organization and storage solutions, there are many available options to choose from. Throughout our showroom, we feature many of these accessories in our own kitchen displays. All products are warranted to the original purchaser to be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of three years from the date of substantial completion.
With our growing and ongoing customer support, we are gratefully able to contribute to our local community. Our commitment to exceeding industry & environmental standards is an ongoing learning commitment. We stay involved with committees that are actively working in our industry to improve systems & practices to achieve this goal.

We went in to Harbour City Kitchens 5 weeks ago to get some additional cabinets to match the ones we already have. All inquiries are by appointment only so we left our contact information with reception. Now 5 weeks later we have had the job done elsewhere and still have yet to even hear back from a representative there to get things started.

We had an excellent experience with Harbour City, would definitely recommend them. We started with a very clear idea of what we wanted, were able to provide a like minded photo that needed to be adjusted for our space needs which were a bit unusual. The designer came out to look at our space and talk about the project, then returned with an associate to take the firm measurements. The next time we heard from her, she was ready for us to select countertop and handles. The next time we heard from her the bathroom vanity was ready for instal. It was all very seamless. Had a minor but annoying issue with the hinges on one door (that they’d supplied over 10 years ago!) and not only did they replace the hinges with new ones (free), but were incredibly kind and helpful so that I could get everything working 100% optimally! Thanks for all your help Madison ... AMAZING customer service!!!!

Maggie Felker was excellent to work with and took care of all of the details arranging design layouts, counters and installation. The quality of the cabinets, counter tops and the installation was first class and we were kept well informed throughout the process. I would not hesitate to recommend Maggie and the team at HCK and use them again when the need arises!

Nice showroom, nice front counter staff, terrible communication, terrible management, terrible coordination.
We bought a new home with HCK putting in the cabinets and handles in November. After being told several times that we were getting the handles we had asked for, they managed to screw up all the handles in our home with not a single one being what we asked for and all mismatching.
They then said they would order us new handles, similar to what we had asked, to replace them all. These new handles were suppose to match the drill holes. Couple months later they came back to switch out the

Harbour City's Showroom is by far the nicest and largest on the island. So many beautiful kitchens to see and touch right in their showroom. Everything is manufactured right there so it saved time and money having it designed and built right here locally in Victoria!

Not terrible price and they do have a great selection. But they did our kitchen cabinetry a little over three years ago and I’ve had to fix them multiple times since. Note that they did come back two times right after the initial installation to fix mistakes, so it’s not like they don’t try, just sloppy installation. Hopefully it was just the installer at the time.

This company was too busy to provide us with quality customer service.
They were too busy to apologize when they painted all of our cabinet doors the wrong shade of white and installed them.... a completely different shade than the gable ends and crown moulding. They denied the possibility of this happening and avoided my phone calls. I took in a picture and they changed their tune in a hurry! They pulled all the doors, repainted and reinstalled them in 2 days which was great! Unfortunately 2 of the doors went back again as they missed some spots. They also painted over all of the small rubber

We had a first class experience with Harbour City Kitchens. From design to installation the people were professional and paid attention to detail. Tim who first met with us had some great recommendations and Scott who installed the cabinets did a remarkable job. HCK also coordinated the granite counter tops which look fantastic. I would definitely recommend HCK.
