Our bathroom renovation process begins by taking the surface off the old walls, then removing any black mold and water damage. We replace the old plumbing (and bathtub if required). Then we build a waterproof envelope, using either the Schluter or WEDI waterproofing systems, before installing new tile.
The price is similar to having a skin placed over the existing tub and surround, but the results are far superior. Most problems with a tub surround installation is that it does not address the problems of old, tired plumbing and significant moisture penetration. The old moldy walls are simply covered over.

It only takes a small piece of missing grout, or improperly installed caulking to cause significant damage. UP DATE BELOW> READ ON, WALKED AWAY AGAIN because we would not remove review.
This company walked away from Job 1/3 done and did not honor contract. Stains left on carpet, blind and dirt left in bathtub when washing out tubs. Said we hassled his employee which is a young not supervised employee that left a mess until we addressed it. Because we mentioned this he walked off . We will be getting someone to finish job and going to court . His word is no good and wanted more money before proceeding taking $7,000 deposit which was agreed on and balance when job completed as written on contract .

Shane was very knowledgable regarding the condition of our bathroom in our recent house purchase. His prior experience and kindness helped us save an incredible portion of money on our renovation. Shane absolutely blew this project out of the water. He conducted his work very professionally and safely despite the COVID 19 Pandemic. His team were very friendly and completed their work very skillfully. Our bathroom required a complete remodel; with the vanity, sink and old tub removed and major tiling work done. All the work that was needed was completed in a short timeframe with little to no noise at all!
He had also shed some light to me personally on what goes into remodelling a bathroom and shared very interesting insight into how to efficiently and effectively get the job done. His advice

We recently had our bathroom renovated by removing an existing old tub and acrylic surround and had them replace it with a soaker tub, tub to ceiling tile and new fixtures/rain shower. There was much to be done in that process especially in an older home. Shane and partner are experienced and knowledgeable. We were able to choose our own tile and fixtures and had a built in shelf installed.
