In 1969, Dave Langford, armed with his engineering degree from Queens University and his MBA from York University, founded Design Air with a vision to incorporate engineered values and principals in a residential-focused HVAC business. Over the years, Design Air has been a leader in developing and implementing many firsts in the industry.
In 1971, Dave's brother, Wayne, joined Design Air after attending the University of Waterloo in engineering. Wayne continued in his education attending Carrier programs in Syracuse NY, Los Angeles CA, and here in Toronto, and along the way received his refrigeration and gas licenses. In 1987, Wayne invented a dehumidification system for which he received both a Canadian and US Patent.
Currently, Wayne is the president of Design Air and continues to stay the course set by his brother by offering superior levels of installations and services with our own hourly-paid mechanics. Wayne is proud to have teamed up with National Comfort Institute, an international training and business company, to offer Design Air customers a "performance-based HVAC installation", that can only be offered by the very best contractors in North America.
