We hired Larry after a recommendation by a long time local. The work was never actually completed, he didn’t build our project square, he promised to bring his laser level to our project, which he never did, the base layers were not packed appropriately so we have pools all over what is suppose to be a well drained area, he charged us 11 x more than the almost exact project we had done (by someone else) 4 mos prior to his project. He is a ripoff artist that is akin to an 80’s used car salesman. Pretends to be a devout man of God, oh please. Shop around and don’t use this company. Deplorable

After many quotes and research for a challenging sewer hook up through rock and distance,I knew I was hiring Boulder Excavating. Larry came and did quote when he said, and then choreographed and organized everything! His operators Quinn and Alex are 2 of the hardest working young men ever. So professional and polite. Always kept me informed. The job was done in 2 days and what could have been a nightmare was actually a dream, because of there diligence and attention to detail. I can't say enough good things about Larry and the team at Boulder. He was recommended by another excavating company who couldn't do the job with the equipment they had. We needed a big excavating machine, a bobcat, dump trucks for bringing in rock, bin trucks for taking out the rubble, and the trucks to move the equipment around. It was less than a week since first speaking with Larry and the job being completed. The team was super efficient and had some good suggestions. They were on time and worked hard. I was expecting to have to pay a premium for service like this but the bill was very reasonable

We moved to the Island from the mainland after having a house built in Nanoose Bay. Not knowing any of the local companies we asked our contractor to suggest someone who could build a rock wall for us. He recommended Boulder Excavation and we're glad he did. I am extremely pleased with the work done by Boulder Excavating (rock retaining wall, rock chip driveway, vegetation removal and grading prep for a lawn). Larry was quick to drop by and give a quote for my project, a quote that was far more reasonable than others I had obtained. The work was done quickly and efficiently by his friendly crew and I especially appreciated their suggestions to achieve a better result. Once the work was done the site was tidied up and all that remained was a much better looking property!

We recently moved into a new house in Nanoose Bay that needed landscaping. Our builder recommended we contact Boulder Excavating about building a rock wall. Larry was quick to respond to our phone call and the work began. The wall is 280' long and 3' high and is a piece of art. Quinn, who built the wall, masterfully selected boulders that fit… together like a jigsaw puzzle. Part of the contract was to build a large pond and waterfall. Unless you have done business with Boulder and are happy with him you should avoid him. I used him 2 years ago and got totally ripped. I told him excavate my lot down to virgin ground as it had fill dumped on it. Then I told him to haul in compactable fill to build on. He said I needed 3 inch minus rock and he knew a engineer that would approve it.… (Bob Roenicke) 250 7522741 25075261 As it turned out it was a scam to up sell me on a much more expensive material supplied by Copcan that wasn't required and many more truck loads because it was much heavier than pit run.
