We are very happy with the over all experience of our recent valor fireplace installed in our home. Graham was very knowledgeable on the product and helped us pick the perfect fireplace for our space. I purchased a natural gas insert in November. At the time the sales person informed of potential delays in receiving the product. We had on installation date rescheduled but was able to have our fireplace installed on the following install date. The whole process took around 6 weeks. Although the delay was inconvenient the staff at pioneer made sure that we were made aware of all issues and kept us well informed. Credit to these guys for navigating this situation so well.

So I purchased the Pearl from Pioneer. The make is by RSF a good company I have had there fireplaces before. That’s where the good quits and the terrible starts. No only did they not install the unit according to the manufacturer guidelines ( and believe me I tried to communicate that prior to and during installation according to the manual I read) they have refused to make it right. I am a contractor myself so there are certain expectation I expect, as my customers expect from me. I am tired of their excuses and their endless promises to fix the problems. I bought my fireplace from pioneer over the phone and email from Graham. It was fantastic. He emailed me the brochures and then I would phone and ask questions. He was so very patient and very informative. My install was delayed about a month due to delivery but as soon as it came in they were here. Peter did an awesome job installing the fireplace and was very quick, unfortunately a part was missing and had to be ordered but was here within the week and Peter was right back and completed the job. I would like to share what can only be considered a bad experience, my wife and I bought a gas fireplace from here 5 years ago and had a not so great experience but we decided we’d give them another chance.
After a few times setting times and dates for the install, which were not met. My wife missed a half day of work to meet them at our house for the install and they no- showed. We talked to the owner to express our frustration and he said he’d call back. He didn’t. They finally showed up today, without the wood stove and I asked the installer if he planned on getting it all done today

Our old fireplace is dead. I have contacted several fireplace stores and they are the one who responded promptly and price is reasonable. Don’t be fooled by decent service in the show room. I could not have had a worse experience and the nightmare continues. My bigger problems are much worse but even the leak on the chimney is not being addressed even though I emailed over two weeks ago and spoke to the manager Chris a few days ago. They don’t even acknowledge receiving my information. Brutal.
The other biggest issue among several is that their WETT installer told me what to do with the hearth to get certification and once I did that, they told me it was wrong and I had to remove the tile to rebuild the framing and dimensions
