Our Community Report

In 1971, John Tung, a new immigrant from South Africa and a butcher by trade, bought COE Lumber. With four young children to feed, he and his wife Eileen forged ahead and built the business with hard work, dedication, and honesty. Today, COE Lumber is one of the few remaining independently owned and operated building suppliers within the City of Vancouver.

Quality depends who of the crew has lumbar background. So. most only construction, nothing home or fine work. So, they sell anything and if you do not check it, you can get a surprise of bad quality, what you have to solve. For saving tie, it is better to go to others, where you select what you want. So, I ordered 2x6x6ft and told them it is for a guest bed frame, so I need nice quality, but not expensive. They sold me a 12ft that they cut to 6ft. It was dark as I bought it. At home I saw a lot of wholes in the wood, that I can not use to make something with it. I learned again, that most of the

Extremely helpful and friendly staff, except for one person who never fails to bark at customers and treats one with rudeness and contempt. He clearly does not appreciate that customers have a choice. I now only go there if I have to.

These guys are outstanding. I've been coming for a long time now but every time I'm always impressed by their professionalism, service and kindness. Yesterday one of he owner spent a fair amount of time to help finding a bolt with a specific size. The way they organized the store to keep serving customers as efficiently as possible during this Covid period is also so well though off. An now you're even protected from the rain while waiting outside. A gem of a store! Highly, highly recommended!
