In 1964 Jim Ellis started a building company and named it after his first born, Kimberly.
Fifty-five years later the family-owned business has developed over 1,000 acres of land, designed and built more than 2,000 homes. Kimberly Homes, with various partners, quickly became one of the largest developer/builders in Essex County. Jim fondly recalls the early days of the company. In 1969 Forest Glade began to take shape.
This it is where I remember being on job sites and sharing lunch with brick layers, framers and other workers. I couldn't believe the fantastic lunches the brick layers ate! From Forest Glade to Tecumseh to Windsor and then LaSalle, Kimberly Homes grew quickly and became a trusted name in the community.
