Randy and Sherry Vinson started Advance Building Supply, Inc in 1988, running it out of their home and a small garage while Randy was still doing new construction home building and remodeling. They began by getting a few accessories here and there for other contractors in Sedalia. In 1994 they made the move to their old location on Anderson School Road.
Building a 3000 square for warehouse and running the office out of the basement of their home. At this time Sherry would run the office and warehouse while Randy still ran his construction crew. In 1995 Randy still had a construction crew running, but he had began to spend most his time running the office and warehouse with Sherry.
Also in 1995 they brought one of their daughters, Chicara, to help run the accounting, billing and also assisting with customers. By 1997 they were out of room in their first warehouse and they added on a 5000 square foot warehouse. At this time we added to our buildings space and our product base.

I am an out-of-town contractor who needed emergency gutter material. I called and asked for the price per pound on the gutter stock and was quoted $2.65 per pound. This is a fair and reasonable price in my mind and I drove 41 miles to the store to pick up the material I was halfway between Sadelia and Columbia on I 70. When I arrived, I learned that there was an additional $20 charge for “a cutting fee“ that was added to all gutter sales. I asked why this was not explained to me on the phone and was referred to a very rude woman, who refused to give me her name, but claimed to be the owners

I under stand that lumber is hard to get right now but we ordered standard boards and material for a 10×15 deck on June 4th. We were told it would be a few weeks before it would be in and after several phone calls and u returned calls we have never gotten our any lumber. As far as the offer to get the lumber that came in Monday no thank you. My husband came in earlier today and was told that you didnt have all the supplies so he cancled our order and we will try another company.
