Pat and Maureen Bezenar founded LivingScape Homes & Renovations in 2001 on the belief that home renovation companies and custom home builders in Calgary were leaving substantial room for improvement. With our years of experience working in the construction industry - and as renovation clients ourselves - we had heard and experienced countless stories about renovations and home improvements gone wrong for various reasons.
We believe there are some very compelling reasons to choose us over our competition. It's not because we use the fanciest software, or offer the slickest reporting tools, or because we have the nicest trucks, or the lowest price. We provide our services at a FAIR and reasonable cost, utilizing a FULL DISCLOSURE, cost-plus model so you know exactly what the true costs are.
LivingScape Homes & Renovations' process is based on a full-disclosure, fully transparent, cost-plus model. Many other contractors will provide you a project "quote" or "estimate" prior to a thorough design phase being completed, which are typically based on numerous assumptions which are inevitably modified as the project progresses.

We purchased a Townhouse/Villa in 2020 that had a great layout but finishes that were more than 40 years old. We hired Livingscape on a friend's recommendation to design and project manage a total refresh. Livingscape and ourselves jointly established a scope of work and from there a schedule and a budget. Maureen offered fabulous design ideas with alternatives. Pat and his contractors met the schedule; the budget was impacted by changes we requested but the cost was still acceptable. The quality of work exceeded expectations and we anticipate the refresh investment will look like a great investment

We did a major reno with LivingScape in 2020 - complete main and upper floor - and had good experience. Pat and Maureen were great to deal with. They truly provide a custom experience - you have a say in everything! Pat was quick to respond to all concerns, and Maureen was very pleasant and professional. Most of their trades were good to deal with, too. A special shout out to Albert, their finishing carpenter, who was a perfectionist with our custom wainscoting. We hired LivingScape for our home renovation which was comprised of a complete renovation of 2 bathrooms as well as a kitchen renovation down to the studs including removing the wall between the kitchen & living room, and all new flooring, paint, cabinetry countertops, lighting, etc. At first, we had no idea where to start with our renovation. Most of the other contractors we spoke with would just give a list of suppliers to visit to make our selections, but this still left us wondering how to get from A to B, whether we were doing things right, or where to even start.

Our trust in contractors was at an all-time low, and our stress was at an all-time high, after a year long ordeal that resulted from another renovation contractor taking off with a large sum of our money. When we signed up to have our exterior renovation completed by Livingscape Homes, we were anxious about getting burned again. The husband and wife team/owners (Pat and Maureen) at Livingscape did an excellent job of renovating my home under challenging circumstances (i.e. me). Despite changing the scope of the work and adding some significant renovations (e.g. whole new staircase) part way through, Pat and Maureen made the adjustments and still had the renovations basically complete within the original timetable provided. Pat and Maureen were also very patient about listening to my various ideas, considering and recommending options to achieve my desired outcome/look while balancing aesthetics and costs.

My wife an I hired LivingScape Homes & Renovations to completely renovate the exterior of our home (windows, including a significant box out window, doors, added board insulation, and siding), and we are very glad that we did! We worked with LivingScape on a renovation to our Lakeview home. We've always wanted a master suite with an ensuite bathroom. We knew what we wanted but we weren’t sure it would be possible to make our ideas a reality. Fortunately, despite some space challenges, with Maureen’s guidance, LivingScape was able to create a luxurious master suite with a 3-piece ensuite and walk-in closet that feels as though it was built that way from the start.
