The world of hardwood floor installation can be a tricky one to navigate. The installation method depends on the type of hardwood floor product, the needs of the space, type of subfloor, and sometimes even the wood species. The acclimatization process and humidity requirements also vary between product types and species, and if done wrong, in some cases can actually destroy the product.
Use walk-off mats outside and inside entrances, to prevent sand, dirt and water from getting on the hardwood surface. Use mats in front of sinks, dishwashers and workstations. Avoid mats with rubber backing, which trap dirt and moisture. The rubber can also eat away at the finish of the hardwood floors.

Excellent service! Mike Reid, our project manager is very knowledgeable, polite and patient. We requested various quotes and he provided them in a quick and clear manner. He is always available when you call him or email him and is in constant communication while the workers are installing the floors. The installers (Nick and Julian) and the finisher (Randy) were excellent doing their job, very polite, with high attention to detail and left everything clean. I could see they were proud of their excellent job. Metro Hardwood floors is the place to go if you need flooring, high quality installation

My husband and I wanted renovate our master bathroom and we came across Metro Hardwood Floors excellent google reviews. We booked an appointment and were very impressed with the salesperson's attention to detail, expertise and knowledge. The tile installer was very professional and tidy as he cleaned up his workspace at the end of the day. We appreciated the open communication to explain exactly what and when our renovation process and installation would entail. We would highly recommend Metro Hardwood Floors for any remodeling project. We look forward to working with them in the future.

Hired Metro floors to do our vinyl flooring and change out our carpet. Mike the sales rep was excellent at helping us find the flooring that fit our preferences and budget.
The scheduling worked great, the guys they had installing the flooring are very professional and skilled at doing their trade well. We were very happy with the workmanship and respect shown to our home throughout the entire process.
Our carpet installer Vedat, and Vinyl flooring main installer was Tree with a team of helpers. Very pleased with their work, and will for sure recommend them for flooring!

Cosmo with Metro Hardwood has to be the best in his profession. The final product and quality finished on my hardwood floors in my 100+ yr old home was more perfect. Exceptional service! Mike L, was personable from the very start. He was able to find a engineered hardwood and carpet that we liked and fit our budget. He is very knowledgeable and was able to offer suggestions and insight into picking the right product for us, answering all of our questions above and beyond. From start to finish the job was seamless. The installers were on time, did an amazing job, and were friendly. We are very happy with our new flooring and would recommend them to anyone who is in the market for a new look to your home!

The custom floor vents are so worth having done, they fit seamlessly into the floor. The installers worked very hard and did an amazing job! We worked with Mike L at Metro to replace nearly all the flooring in a home we had recently purchased. Metro installed our Tigerwood floors on our main floor 13 years ago. A kitchen water leak ruined about 50 square feet of it. Insurance company said it couldn't be repaired and they would have to rip out my kitchen and start over. It would be a 6 week process, and we would have no kitchen during that time. I called Mike at Metro. They fixed it and re-finished the entire floor in 4 days. And at a little over 1/4 of the price to replace it all.
