Floor Designs is a family owned and operated company established in 1998. Based in Ajax, we provide a friendly service to clients in both commercial and residential sectors in the Durham region and the GTA. Floor Designs has been servicing the insurance industry since 2005. Being in retail for that long, continues to enhance our knowledge and experience in this line of work.

Services Report

Floor Designs will arrange all the installations above from removal of the existing floors, preparation of the subfloor, acclimation of the hard surface products, to the installation of the new ones. We also provide finishing for the hard surfaces like baseboards, shoe molds and 1/4 rounds. We can do the job from removal to installation or we can coordinate with you, should you want to do some parts yourself.

Carpet Report

There are many types of carpet in the market today, different styles from cut pile to loops to a mix of cut and loop, frieze, level loop, berber, sisal, carpet tiles.

They come in different fibers catering to different areas in our day to day life; from the Nylon and Polypropylene used in the commercial sector to the PET Polyester, soft Nylon, and luxury soft fibers like SmartStrand that do not stop amazing us with their silky feels but also with their dirt resistance and easy to clean, their pet resistance, green label and their soil protection for life.

Our laminates are tested to meet the standard for Formaldehyde emissions compliant with limits set by Health Canada, under the certification E-1.

Vinyl has come a long way since it was installed in your grandparents kitchen. From the vinyl sheet it existed in, to cushiony floors, to grouted luxury vinyl tiles and click luxury vinyl planks and tiles. Supporting local business is Important to us. We received quotes from two family owned flooring stores in Ajax but hands down the service we received from Floor Designs was superior. The products were explained in detail, we were provided samples and the pricing was excellent. The install was professional and the installers were friendly and courteous. I'm thoroughly pleased with the service and product we received from Floor Designs! They are true professionals, experts in their field and happy to help. My husband and I used Floor Designs for the carpet in the new baby's room. Low pressure environment, lots of great information about different types of carpet and help picking the colour to match the walls. Very accommodating and really just lovely people who own the shop! We picked the Mohawk air-o and it's very soft and vacuums well. A great local family owned business! We will be going back to them for future flooring needs.

First Class Professionals! They were helpful and knowledgeable but never pushy. My husband and I had specific requirements for the durability of our floors and they were honest about recommending the right product for our use. It was obvious from our first meeting that customer satisfaction is their priority and they never made us feel inferior for our lack of knowledge. In addition, their installers were polite, professional and they cleaned up every bit of mess before they left. Our floors look great. I highly recommend this company.
