Calgary Overhead Doors Ltd was established in 1953 by the Honeysett family, with Ron Honeysett operating the company until the 1980s, when it was purchased by Reid MacPhee. Reid eventually passed the mantle of leadership to his son, Dan. Dan MacPhee joined the team in 1987 and purchased the business in 1994, and just this year his brother, Dave MacPhee became half owner.

I arranged for Calgary Overhead door to come to my house to replace a broken spring and the opener at my house. I scheduled an appointment for them to do the work. The day of the install came and i got the call that they would be over to do the work, i was busy at work and the call went to voicemail. I quickly returned the call the and installer said that my account was passed on to another guy, and i would hear from him within the hour. 4 days went by and i never got a call, i called the original installer back and got no answer and never received a call back. I've had Calgary Overhead Doors out twice to perform work for us. Once for replacing the opener and once for replacing the door springs after one broke. Both times we've been very happy with the service AND the costs. I got some other quotes that were WAY more expensive. Krista at reception is always pleasant to deal with too.

I made an appointment with them 1 week in advance; I took the day off from work as they could only guarantee a half hour notification window. After waiting all day I finally called at 4 pm to find out what was going on and got a voicemail, left a message that I was waiting, wondering what happened and to please call me back. First thing the next day I called back to find out what had happened and spoke to Krista (who had booked the appointment the first time). She informed me that I had never been booked for any appointment and told me that someone would come out today to fix

I was impressed with the speed of response and the quality of the service. Crista is the best.
My only criticism of the installation was the wiring for the mechanism was simply stapled across the garage's ceiling and walls when the attic hatch was a few feet away and/or the existing wire could have been used. Their solution looks cheesy and makes repainting problematic.

Emailed using the website on Saturday night. First thing Monday I got a email back with up front pricing and was able to book an appointment for Wednesday.
The tech came to my house and quickly installed a new garage door opener. Went super smooth and the pricing matched exactly what I was quoted right up front.
