Grading which does not slope away from the structure sufficiently to drain water away from the foundation walls or grading which extends above the waterproofing or foundation wall. Any claim under this limited warranty shall be initiated by providing BEST Plumbing and Drainage Contractors, 1215190 Ontario Limited with written notification within (30) days of discovering the claim.
As you look around your house, do you know where the runoff from your house and the surrounding area goes? It is super important to take note of how water from rain and melting snow will drain around and away from your house in order to ensure it does not end up in your basement. This is the time of year we get a lot of calls from homeowners needing help with a wet basement.
You could set up a maintenance program for regular cleaning or repair or replace the sewer to prevent further backups from occurring. Basements can leak for various reasons. The weeping tile that surrounds most homes could be plugged, causing water to build up around the house. The foundation may need to be waterproofed stopping any water from penetrating the concrete or block wall.

I contacted Best Plumbing and Drainage Contractors in late summer 2020 to provide a quote for some drainage issues we had in our backyard. Shawn was able to come and provide a quote with a plan on how to add drainage to the yard with catch basins to provide drainage in the winter months. They were able to come and complete the work in late 2020. A year later, we have had no drainage issues and the small pond we used to get after rain no longer exists. We had an excellent experience with Best Drainage. When we moved into our new house we noticed a drainage issue in the front and back yard. Shawn promptly came out for the estimate and responded quickly with a very cost effective quote for our drainage problems. They scheduled the work within a couple weeks and kept me updated. When they came Tyler and all the guys and were very informative, efficient, considerate and completed the work fully while cleaning everything up perfectly. I highly recommend Best Contracting. We replaced our old sewer line and water line in advance of the the city doing the same on our street this year. Also took the opportunity to waterproof as the area was exposed.

I had tree roots growing into my sewer line. I made the mistake of calling another plumbing company first, which did not fix the problem. Shawn returned my email quickly on the weekend and sent Tyler over to my house. Tyler did a fantastic job clearing the pipes & is a great guy.

Our basement flooded in July 2020.
As part of the rebuild, the city of London has a grant program to assist in putting in a sump pump, backup system, and backwater relief valve. They require two quotes be submitted. I called around, and spoke to 6 plumbers, and obtained three quotes.
I decided to use Best instead of the other companies because the owner Shawn came out personally to do the quote. He treated me with a respect not found in the other companies. He answered my questions, was patient with my subsequent emails, and never once did I feel like an inconvenience

I called to report a leak in my basement. Sean was over the next day, assessed the area and showed me the crack in the exterior concrete wall causing the water in my basement. He could have easily told me that they could start the job and pocket the money after they fixed the problem. Instead, he gave me another cheaper option and saved me thousands of dollars. He made nothing on his visit but referred me to someone else who could fix the problem for a portion of the price. I am very pleased to see that this type of honesty still exists today.

I have had Best Plumbing and Drainage install a catch basin in my backyard, complete basement waterproofing, and install a backwater valve. Shawn readily answers all questions and takes the time to explain the work thoroughly. He even offered to meet with my neighbours to ensure they were comfortable with the work being done adjacent to their property. They are efficient and do an outstanding job cleaning up the worksite when they are finished. I have been extremely impressed with every aspect of their work and would definitely count on them for all future plumbing/drainage jobs. I recommend them
