The most common central cooling system is a split system, which includes an outdoor cabinet containing a condenser coil and compressor, and an indoor evaporator coil, usually installed in conjunction with your furnace or air handler. The outdoor compressor pumps a chemical called refrigerant through the system.
The indoor part of an air conditioner or heat pump that moves cooled or heated air throughout the ductwork of your home. An air handler is usually a furnace or a blower coil. A British Thermal unit is a unit of heat energy. One BTU is the amount of heat required to raise one pound of water by one degree Fahrenheit.

I called to get some information about the Trane furnace and AC brand as these guys are preferred dealer for them. Upon my inquiry the guy quoted me a price which was without any merits. I still dealt professionally and mentioned to him about the quote received from the Costco Lennox. His response "why you calling me and wasting my time"? As a customer, its my right to check around, gather information and make informed decision. This type of business shouldn't be marked as preferred dealer by Trane itself.
