The Landscape Artist Inc has been providing the Calgary area with quality residential landscape construction and design services since 1977. Offering a custom design service backed by some of the best installers in the industry; we handle the whole job from decks, patios, and retaining walls to finishing touches such as water features, hardy plants and landscape lighting.
Not an easy question to answer as each project so different. This is one of the reasons we don't charge for the initial consult because once we see what you are dealing with and what you like we can then say "That job cost $XX but it's bigger than yours" or "A deck that size should run you $XX" Further on in the process we can give you exact figures (that is part of the reason a design is so important!)

We first called The Landscape Artist just as a cold call from the phone book. Boy, did we get lucky. With Peter's help we turned our basic landscaping into a beautiful garden which we were proud of. Without hesitation, we again called Peter to work with us on our new home construction. He was able to translate and then efficiently carry out our vision.
An outdoor kitchen is a perfect complement to your outdoor entertainment space. In addition to the traditional gas grill, outdoor kitchens can include bar seating, refrigerators, dishwashers, sinks, storage, pizza ovens, smokers, and roof structures. They can be poolside or tucked into a more intimate setting along with a dining or lounging area.

Landscape artist was the least expensive quote I could get, which surprised me. Several contractors did not show up to quote the job and the one that did was way more expensive. In addition, Landscape artist came to me with ideas I had not considered, which really helped whereas the others just quoted on what I asked for. I truly believe I ended up with a better result because of their approach. I liked the ability to get a rendering to see what my yard would look like before the work started. The showed up when they said they would and delivered what they promised. I am very pleased with my final

We had the Landscape Artist redo our entire backyard, and they did an amazing job - it was completely our vision of what we wanted. There were some minor hiccups along the way, but what I was most impressed with was how they responded: quickly and efficiently, with very open communication about the issues that we brought up. I would highly recommend Landscape Artist and are actually interested in having our front yard done by them too - and we would specifically request that we have the same team that did our backyard.

Congratulations on your award this year!
We had amazing ideas from David and his crew to update the 70's look of the front of our home in "a low maintence" mode, which turned out beautifully. The addition of a pergola on the new front porch has received many positive comments from family and friends. The landscaping made a big differnce to the look, and also is now low maintenance for us.
The crew was always on time, worked very hard and at the end of the day everything was cleaned up, ready for the next day. We had a few changes in the original plan, and they were able to work them in or explained

We had a challenging backyard slope adjusted to level out a downslope with a short retaining wall on one side and fences on either side to allow use of the full yard. The planning was done over a period of months given the amount of detail proposed and options we had. We were not able to quickly do this as it was our first experience with a landscaping company. However, after meeting David at the Calgary Home Show the previous year, we decided that something needed to be done and hired the company based on several local reviews.

I am 85% happy with the work which was done in our backyard.
Tree installation and Turf install.
The turf looks great and we are mostly happy with the finished product. We were disappointed with the aesthetics of the final result. Even after a revisit by staff the Turf still has a blotchy and uneven finish. Perhaps, after some time it will even out but we are not optimistic of that.
The planting of the tree could have been handled better. The hole which was prepared was too small and their usual use of a root propagation product was not completed because they had run out on a previous job.

We have had these guys do two yards for us now, the most recent project was quite extensive and we couldn't be happier. The quality of the work has been excellent but most impressive has been the way they have stood behind the work. They had returned in the spring and fixed and tidied up any shifting occurring through the winter. We had a large fireplace built that had some repairs required and at their own expense they brought a team out in the fall and it is back to 100% and we even got a call from the Mason leaving us a message he'll be back in the spring for any touch ups. And this three years

Landscape Artist was not the cheapest quote in town but there were many benefits: Excellent design service, work was done quickly and competently. Finished product was excellent. A tree that did not fare well the first winter was replaced at no cost and a couple of minor sprinkler glitches were remedied quickly and without need to nag and pester.

Landscape Artist did our original landscaping few years ago and a "refresher" a couple of years ago. We were very pleased with both jobs, specially with the refresher which resulted in a beautiful garden with a moderate cost. We are calling them again for some additional work. We have worked with the Landscape Artist since 2014 and they have been fantastic. From the design process through to their willingness to discuss and change plans multiple times over the years to the actual installation, the Landscape Artist have been a pleasure to work with. I am very much a detail orientated individual and blessed (cursed) with an eye that immediately zeros in on defects and lines that aren't straight or are out out of plumb - that has never happened with the work the Landscape Artist has done for us.
