My furnace had expired prematurely, just before a cold snap in December (they always do). The initial diagnosis was unfortunately inconclusive and the replacement part did not resolve the issue. After some negotiation with the team at Reliable, it was determined that a replacement was required. After selecting the new furnace, the technicians arrived promptly at the appointment time and they were fantastic and very professional. I booked an appointment for maintenance and there was a minor issue with the fan. It is not emergency but they could send the technician very soon. The technician did a very thorough check and cleaning of the furnace and at the same time answered my many questions. He gave recommendations regarding the issue and also the humidifier. We had our 12 year old furnace start to leak from the heat exchanger and since it was 12 years old and a builders grade furnace, we decided to replace it. The Installation team from Reliable were great when they installed our replacement air conditioning unit 2 years prior, so we decided to go with then for the furnace replacement. The only issue we had was the linoleum floor had torn when the guys moved the washer/dryer unit in the utility room. we certainly lucked in with Reliable Home Environment. Jason was the tech. who fixed our issue in a timely manner and explained the cause of the problem. Jason was polite, patient and well mannered. He explained things in layman terms which we also appreciated. The price we were charged for a Sunday visit including the actual time spent solving our problem was quite reasonable compared to what their competition quoted us. When its November and the furnace stops working especially on a Sunday, we considered ourselves very lucky

We found Reliable through Costco, if you have a Costco account book through them and get 10% back in a Costco card. We were very happy with Reliable. From the initial sales call to the installation they delivered what they promised. No pressure from the salesman, provided us with a full description of what products they offered and the full price guide.

Crew was careful all around during installation. Price was about the same as other quotes so it was responsiveness and professionalism that won them the job. Two weeks ago we had to replace our vented hot water heater due to a faulty blower (fault point was clear and defined). The team at Reliable came through THAT afternoon...tank was installed before dinner. The techs Alex and Cam were first rate. They were up beat and friendly...even let our cat in from the backyard on one of their trips to the van. They even left the area of the basement cleaner than when they arrived. Cool at last, I finally got the air conditioning replaced by the team at Reliable Home Environment in Ottawa. What started with a chance call looking for a quote ended with me being WOW’d. John Chapin was more than knowledgeable, no fluff, straight talking guy introduced me to an incredible quality product from MitsAir out of Toronto, a Mitsubishi… 20 seer 1.5 ton >50 decibel AC unit the size of suit case. I had very negative experience with Reliable Home Environment this time. My furnace was on and off this Winter. The signal light was flashing 7 times which didn’t tell specifically what issues were (manual shows it can be problems with gas valve, pressure switch, igniter, flame sensor, and etc.). We had RHE technicians come over to inspect the… issues. With two technicians and totally 4 inspections, nothing was confirmed. I was told to replace the pressure switch for about 300 bucks including tax, but the problem was not solved. Totally I paid for about 500 bucks for one of the inspections

Had an issue with our furnace this week. Even though there was a high volume of service calls due to the snow storm, then sent someone out within a couple of hours. Once the problem was identified, the technician performed a temporary fix to get us up and running again. He also scheduled an appointment for the next day to replace the failed part.

We contacted Reliable Home Environment at 9:00PM on a Friday night because our 18 year old water heater was malfunctioning. Almost immediately we received a reply that we would be contacted Saturday morning. John called shortly after 8:00 Saturday morning and came out to see us.
